Cornwall Faith Forum Sponsored Walk – ‘Building Peace – Stepping out in Faith’
Malcolm Bowers and Kathy Pope, Cornwall Faith Forum (CFF) supporters, will be walking the St Michael’s Way, and there is an opportunity for anyone interested to join the walk as well. They have been involved in the work of the CFF for several years. They are inspired by CFF’s work for peace through the three strands of Building for Peace, Learning for Peace and Sharing for Peace and would like undertake the walk for sponsorship for the charity. CFF brings together people in Cornwall from the Baha’i, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim, Pagan and Humanist communities. CFF has a large and effective education programme with children, young people and adults, events and discussions to share and celebrate our faiths and the vision of establishing an iconic building where people of faith and anyone who is interested can learn, share and contribute to peace-making.
The walk will commence at 10.00 am at Lelant Parish Church (St Uny) and finishes on Marazion Beach. There are some uphill stretches which are quite strenuous but overall the walk is rated as ‘moderate’ and walking boots are recommended. It uses footpaths mostly with some minor roads. As is our custom we will be stopping periodically for readings and the topic will be on ‘pilgramages’.
