Saga Dawa Düchen -Buddhist Festival of Vaishaka – Thursday, 23rd May at 5.00 pm at the Dor Kemmyn Field, Penmount

Prayer Flag raising and prayer offering at WESAK ( Skt ) – SAGA DAWA DUCHEN ( Tib )

Thursday 23rd May is the day that celebrates the Birth, Enlightenment and Parinirvana of Lord Buddha, on the 15th lunar day, at full moon of the fourth month. Saga Dawa is also a ‘month of merits’ when the benefits of Dharma practice, and positive action of body, speech and mind are said to multiply a million-fold.

We will offer recitation of the mantra of Buddha Sakyamuni, and prayers for peace with the aspiration that all beings be liberated from suffering, and that each and every being may realise their Buddha Nature.

We will raise the flag of the wind horse and small strings of prayer flags at the Peace Field.

Hatreds never cease through hatreds in this world; through love alone they cease. This is an eternal law.’ Verse 5, The Dhammapada.

Please join us at 5pm at the Peace Field, Penmount and do bring tea, thermos and cup with you!
