Dor Kemmyn
When representatives from the different communities first got to know each, they found out that they had a lot in common and they also realised they shared a common issue: the lack of dedicated worship spaces for the majority of faith communities. They were meeting in village halls or schools and churches! This realisation led to the vision of an Inter Faith Centre for Cornwall – a building which could be used by all faith groups and by those who were just seekers. It was named Dor Kemmyn –Cornish for “Common Ground”.
The inspiration to develop an Inter-Faith Centre lead to a project being developed under the umbrella of Cornwall Faith Forum. This project is called Dor Kemmyn.
Meetings of the Dor Kemmyn Group
The project is developed by the Dor Kemmyn Group consisting of faith representatives, representatives of Cornwall Council and Devon and Cornwall Police and other important bodies and anyone else who is interested. Meeting are open to everyone and take place once a month.
