Following the recent increase in tensions in so many places across the globe the Cornwall Faith Forum wants to join its voice and its support for the many individuals and groups who are praying for Peace. We offer our heartfelt sympathy to all who have lost loved ones in the attacks in Paris, Beirut, Baghdad, Mali and elsewhere and hope that there can be an end to all violent actions.
Much of the fighting has been attributed to religion but we believe that such activity can have no genuine basis in faith. In fact all major world faiths believe in and work for peace.
In Cornwall for over 10 years the Cornwall Faith Forum has demonstrated that it is possible for members of different Faith Communities to work in harmony and to build tolerance by sharing together. Under the three strands of Sharing for Peace, Learning for Peace and Building for Peace we offer a model of co-operation and mutual trust which we hope others may be inspired to follow.
We would like to leave you for Christmas and the New Year with a recording of the “Unita” song (Cornish for Unity) from the launch of our CD earlier in the Autumn. Wishing you all a very happy and peaceful Christmas.
