Invitation to Harvest Celebration (Lughnasadh) – Sunday 27th July 2025 at 2.00 pm

Eve Salthouse, from the Pagan Faith Community, writes:

“You are all invited to a Harvest celebration at the Penmount field on July 27th at 2pm.

This will be a simple ceremony for Lughnasadh, or Lammas, by the pagan community.

People of all faiths and none have always felt the need to celebrate and be thankful for the harvest in their lives, whether that is grain or livestock in our fields, or, (for most of us these days), the harvest of other kinds of seeds we have planted, projects we have created.

For many pagans, Lughnasadh is First Harvest, named after Lugh. Traditionally, in honour of Lugh, we play games. You are, however,  all excused from wrestling, spear throwing and cross-country running this time!

Come along and find out about this festival, and our others, (we have two more!)

Please bring a chair if a picnic rug is not your style, and food and drink to share afterwards.

Please also bring any items you would like to place on our altar, or poems, readings, songs you might wish to share.”
