Wesak Celebration at the Dor Kemmyn Peace Field, Penmount, Truro – Sunday 11th May at 2pm

Our next Festival at the Dor Kemmyn Field will be the Buddhist festival Wesak.  Sophie Muir from the Buddhist Faith Community writes:

Wesak – Festival of Vaishaka marks the Birth, Enlightenment and Parinirvana of Lord Buddha on the 15th lunar day, Monday 12th May, full moon of the fourth month. According to the Tibetan lunar Calendar, Saga Dawa falls on 11th June and is also a ‘month of merits’ when benefits of Dharma practice, and all positive action of body, speech and mind multiply a 100 million-fold.

Please join us for a simple ceremony offering recitation of the mantra of Buddha Sakyamuni, reflection on the Teachings of the Buddha, and prayers for peace, with aspiration that all beings be liberated from suffering, that each and every being may realise their Buddha Nature.

We will raise prayer flags at the Peace Field.
